#7 - Ebony Nwanebu "Your type of player"

Hi, I'm Ebony and I am a 8th grader at Crockett Middle School in Irving, Texas. For the 2009 club season I have selected to play on the TAV top 14's team - 14 Asics. In Junior high, I was selected to play and was a co-captain of the Crockett "A" 8th grade top team. We won the 2008 Irving City "A" Team Post Season Championship Tournament.

We started our 2009 club season with a win playing up in the 15's age group and winning the New Years Classic tournament. Qualified for the 2009 Texas Championship Tour and came in 3rd in overall points standings. We won the MLK ranking Tournament in Januray. We came in 2nd in the Asics NT Invite in February. We won the North Texas Invite Ranking tournament in March. We placed 1st in the 16's age group in the Summit Star tournament. Placed 2nd in the Big South National Qualifier in 14 Open. We came in 2nd in the Lone Star Classic Qualifier in the 14 Open division. We came in 2nd in the Northern Lights Qualifer in the 14 Open. We have Qualified for the 2009 Junior Olympic's to be held in Miami, FL July 2nd-5th.

This coming summer I will attend the 2009 USA Volleyball Girls Select High Performance A1 Camp and HP Championships in Ft Lauderdale, FL July 16-26. I will attend TAV's college coaches elite camp.


5 years individual volleyball training before joining TAV

I started skills training with Ms Ruth Nelson at the age of 5. In 2005 I played for a TAV Metro team at the age of 9. And have continued to play at TAV on their top Asics team for the past 4 years.

My strong hitting, blocking and one hand jump serve has allowed me to make a volleyball club team the past five seasons.

I'm glad Ms Ruth has been so caring and teaching me the skills and the game of volleyball. I'm also glad that my mom got me involved in the sport she loved to play. I plan on becoming the best volleyball player I can be.
